Soft Focus Not Working Correctly

Standard soft focus - when you point your character at something it shows up in the focus orb.

The problem is since my main reached lvl 20 it no longer works. Sometimes it will, sometimes it locks onto an object and I have to hit escape to clear the orb, but most times it's just blank no matter what I've pointed it at.

Soft focus works fine on my other lower level characters, both a lvl 4 on the same server and my hardcore character.

I've gone in and verified I didn't change any settings, bounced the settings off my lower level guy to ensure they're set up the same etc.... , but it hasn't fixed the problem.

Any suggestions to getting it back working on my main?

Limited success, but thanks. After turning Aim look on and off it's gotten my forcus orb to react to items now (except for coins and gems it seems). It'll still lock on when I click on someone to talk or open a chest and I have to use esc to clear it, but the important part of it seems to work now.

The bigger problem is that hard focus will just stop from time to time.
