The final nerf.

As we all try to out do each other with the next bestest nerf, it is time to come to agree to the one final nerf to resolve this. Just nerf the forums to remove the ability to post the word nerf. Then all this talk about nerfs can go away and we go back to bitching about SSGs lack of engagement. There will be no poll.

After reading the reviews for how bad the latest expansion is, I get the feeling someone nerfed the developers...

They just need to make all the new gear underwhelming so no one is spam playing their awesome builds.

What this does is to make the content underplayed. See Eveningstar for examples. However that's also an XP issue, since Eveningstar XP tends to be very underwhelming alongside the underwhelming loot.

Please SSG, no more nerfs. Thank you!

Think it was fine for a mini.

I'm hoping they save up all that dev $$ and dev energy for the nect big xpack -transition into planescape! with githyanki and spelljammer racing!!

Exactly, make new loot flat and boring, thus reducing concurrency and the opportunity for players to see casters outperform them on kill board.

Simple solution, nerf character speed by 100%. If people can't move they cant do content, if they cant do content they cant compare builds, if they cant compare builds then all builds are theoretically balanced. Utopia achieved.

Implement the handicappers general of Harrison Bergeron fame. All will be brought down to the same level!

The best nerf unfortunately would probably require a major effort from the devs and so it will never see the light of day.

That would be the nerf in which many monsters are rebalanced to make them much less killable by various archetypes. Monsters with enough resistance to various damage types that it becomes a slog for the archetype in question to kill them alone and it becomes very advantageous to group with characters that cover your weaknesses in this regard.

The second best solution would be alongside the first above and that would be dungeons with unpredictable spawns. Whether random dungeons or existing dungeons reworked for variable spawns this would take most of the information advantage out of the hands of the players and make overall game play much less predictable and for most players much more fun in the process.

One way to accomplish the first solution would to rework champions to make them much less predictable upon spawn. Remove the names above them so that the players cannot readily distinguish what type the champ is. Rework the various types so that they present particular challenges to various archetypes that are not easily managed when those archetypes encounter them.

And BTW, why are champs distinguishable at all from the regular monsters? They'd be a heck of a lot harder to deal with if the only way to distinguish them was by the damage they did and the immunities they showed upon contact.

Most arch types are garbaged and didn't get blightcaster level of op

There is definitely someone on the dev team that loves loves loves caster types in general. There's no question anymore.

For every archetype ... it's boring/underpowered, boring/underpowered, boring/underpowered, BLiGhtCaSter ( OP suppa Awesome!! Goku Saiyan yaaah!!), boring/underpowered, boring/underpowered...
