Two weapon Specialty

Hey im a little bit confuse a little bit about the benefits of two weapon specialty and two handed specialty feats at lv 31. For TWS pre requisites are at least one of Greater Single Weapon Fighting, Greater Two Handed Fighting or Greater Shield Mastery so you can have:
  • Reduces the penalty for fighting with two weapons. You gain +60% offhand strike chance. This does not work in animal form. This does not count as a Combat Fighting Style feat. per wiki. https://ddowiki.com/page/Two_Weapon_Specialty.
But then you have twf, improved two weapon fight and greater two weapon fight line that each reduce penalty for using two weapons one in the main hand and one in the offhand, hit points and offhand strike chance cumulative. https://ddowiki.com/page/Two_Weapon_Fighting.

Can anyone please explain the benefits of having two weapon specialty vs the benefits of having the complete two weapon fighting line and if you can get both for a major benefit? It's because to get two weapon specialty you have to do a diff line of fighting style other than two weapon fighting.

Thanks.

The specialty feats are meant to give you flexibility—the idea is that if you're a THF main, you could swap to TWF for boss DPS, or something like that.

The benefits are (in theory at least) versatility. You can swap between THF and TWF, for instance. In practice, your enhancements are unlikely to support this well, however.

The only styles that "stack" are SWF or THF + shield mastery lines (but the melee power they grant doesn't stack).

Basically this. It's as if the devs were trying to throw a bone to people who complain about the excessive specialization of the game, without thinking that a feat doesn't change anything. The rest of your enhancements and EDs will be focused on your original style.

What's more, due to the long grind required to have a weapon with full sentience and raid filigrees, even changing weapons is a chore for many players.

As a way to promote versatility, this feat arrives too late, at the end of a system that promotes, inventiveness and forces towards hyper-specialization.

This is easily visible in the case of casters as well. Nowadays all DDO is focused around hyperspecialization. People who expect to be able to also make less specialized characters, like in pnp, will invariably be disappointed.
