My opinion on IPS is that it is only as good as the person using it. That is, if you are not good getting the mobs where you need them, you are not going to like using IPS. If you are adept at getting the mobs to move the way you want them to, then you will like it. I have been utilizing a paralyze build since paralyze was available only as a stat on an item. So, close to 17 years of practice manipulating mobs around, it has become 2nd nature to me when I play. That and being able to use your select target hotkey to select the farthest away mob. Lastly, pick a short character. It helps with targeting.
