You can multiclass, yes, but the problem with this, barring any possible restriction due to the fact you are a bear, is that multiclassing in this game always gives negative results, *unless* you want something very specific from it. In other words, in this game, it's specialise, or die.

Welcome, I think you will fine many older D&D players here including me, getting my first TRS box in the 70's which I still have.

Yes, you can do this. You'll just need to pay special attention to your character's Alignment. Bards need to be any non-lawful alignment and Druids must include some form of Neutral alignment.

Using Neutral, Neutral Good, or Chaotic Neutral alignments should work for a Bard/Druid build.

For combat methods, you might go with the Warchanter tree for a Bear druid. A spellcaster Druid may synergize well with the Bardic Spellsinger tree or the Stormsinger Iconic class.

The game includes a wonderful variety of class mashups and niche builds. I am sure you and your wife can come up with something unique and fun to play

Ahhh the good 'ol days where THAC0 wasn't intimidating and save vs. Dragon Breath was
