Why purple?

Why does SSG (and previous companies) have such an obsession with purple? There has been too much purple in this game before this new update, but now, everywhere is purple, presumably for the duration of this 'event'. The only safe place appears to be the Guild ship, which thankfully still remains as it always has!

No idea. I asked them in 2014 in the player council forum, and offered to send them a box of crayons so they can SEE the other colors, and hte response was 'we get it, you want more purple". LOL (tongue in cheek, for those who don't catch nuance in forums). I think at the end of the day they just lean on the color a little too much for visual drama.

It is a mind flayer event. Purple makes sense to me.
