They should have added an Eidolon Summons effect in the tree somewhere ala Necklace of Mystic Eidolons (that Shadow is pretty tough, too - he stays alive and times out more than he dies).
I can't say I've used that shadow recently but the main thing I remember it for is agroing absolutely everything through the walls in TOEE part II. It didn't last too long after that 🙂

It's been a few weeks since I checked on the forums. Is the Epic Destiny Pass dumpster fire still burning? Or have the Devs backed off on some of their more radical nerfs?

Someone save me the time of reading 54 pages of players saying a lot, and Devs saying very little.

Backed off, no. Made adjustments? possibly. Release Notes should be up later today or tomorrow AM and then you can see for yourself.

Move Shadow Dancer Caster to Magus of the Eclipse(Magus = Magos: a magician/illusion) or buff Shiradi Caster and put it there, since it was always a hybrid tree.

But it was the devs who nerfed the spell shiradi procs with absolutely unrealistic assumptions about the speed with which we can cast spells. Do you think they are going to admit that they were wrong? They are much more likely to leave shiradi dead and buried for casters.
After all of this being said and done, would it be so bad for one epic destiny tree to be purely focused on ranged archetype? I feel like a lot of the choices they've made end up feeling satisfactory to few. Going all in on Shiradi being ranged only and not even entertaining the magery and moving the things people liked for casters in there to the other caster trees seems like it might have ended up being the superior option in hindsight. It's basically a ranged tree anyway, just double down and do it right seems like a not bad end result?

There are so many caster trees and melee trees, hybrid trees, but no specialist ranged tree besides the obvious Shiradi. If Shiradi was pure ranged it would give more breathing room for various ranged variants in the tree. Maybe the next ED they release after Macrotechnic will be a pure ranged destiny to give Shiradi a run for their money then?

Give Fury of the Wild and Legendary Dreadnaught caster options and give Draconic and Magus Melee and Range options too, so all trees can be hybrid trees.
That way devs can give more choices and blur the lines.
Give everyone the ability to cast spells then when they run out of mana switch to AOE range and when they run out of missiles they can switch to melee and when the melee weapons break they can switch to hand wraps.
At the end of halfway mark, have them summon a Rest Shrine to get back mana and a Repair Geanie to fix their weapons.

I don't care if they leave the shiradi and the shadowdancer only for weapon users, but they have to give me functional EDs for caster. And the bad thing is that they don't give them.

Shiradi is very good for ranged. The problem is that there are not other optiones (=other EDs for ranged). Shadowdancer is ok as a supplement, but not as a full ED for ranged. Same LD.

Just make a new hybrid Tree and put all those dev ideas there.
Shadow Dancer was a Martial Tree.
We did have a Primal Tree and two other Type trees as well, Divine and Arcane.

another thing - why can't they tell us what something is exactly doing post patch? a lot of the patch notes say FIXED - which doesn't tell us if something been buffed or nerfed or give any indication as to what is exactly going on? Your ambiguity is just as frustrating as your poor decisions and lack of listening to the players on this update as a whole.

I don't normally gripe about changes but in my own opinion (plus what I'm reading on the forums) if this update was put up to a vote, it would be DOA and sent back to the drawing board. My biggest gripe is the nerf to solo player healing in epics. I agree the group healing needed to be toned down or removed but getting rid of the self healing is a step too far. Exalted Angel was gutted as a ED, Draconic got neutered. All hail the rise of the pew pew builds.

But that is just my opinion.... it will be a new world tomorrow. Let's see how bad the train wreck is.

A guildie in Australia was specifically using the passive effects like EA Mantle aura precisely because the ambient ping for him is so bad and various forms of lag make his frequently solo playstyle unplayable (at least bad enough to approach the unfun zone) if he needs timely active healing all the time. I wasn't seeing EA Mantle spam in game, I was seeing it on one or two people in raids it seemed like a balanced part of the game. Twelve second boost states like old HE, passive healing like old EA, are enabling mechanics for people. People have issues with their hands, other issues, lots of people that play the game. If anything should have survived the more passive and lag resistant, enabling mechanics should have remained. Numbers can be toned down, adjustments can be made, without disabling game play.

Please SSG, no more nerfs. Thank you!
Guys it really isn't that bad.

One particular caster build that ws crazy OP got nerfed boo hoo. EA mantle that was being abused to no end got nerfed awwww...

Gimme a break. AoE ranged got a massive nerf. You can clear entire rooms now with your RPGs.

Stop whining so much.

The thing is other Epic Destinies abilities were taken or reduced in power.
If they had given 20 minute timers on Shadow Dancers previous abilities it would of been terrible but The Choice to use them would of still been there.
There is no complete valid reason to have removed soo many abilities in the tree.

Shadow Dancer still has no:
CC ( -Shadow Manipulation)
Stealth Executioner type strike
AOE attack (oh ya, Weird but not)
No Pass through enemies

Why does a Shadow Dancer now have to leave it's Epic Destiny and can't take it to Tier V, just to get SOME of those abilities it already had and is now given in other Epic Destinies that aren't Stealth based or Sneak Attack in play style.

It's funny watching Elminster fight club himself, constantly switching sides and stances and throwing random comments out there that invalidate his previous comments. And then repeat, rinse, recycle day after day. The wide variety of opinions is quite entertaining.

Your passion for the game is commendable. :)
I'm sure we all find things funny about each other's recurring behavior.

Mmm Hmm. It's pretty amusing watching known exploiters quibble when it's pointed out. Kind of like bullies who run to the teacher when somebody stands up to them. Imagine deriving self worth from being competitive in a PvE game? I don't get it.

Watching the HellDivers 2 community explode over PvE and seeing how petty and small people are to one another has helped put things into perspective here. So hey buddy, thanks for chiming in. Your one liners are almost comedic.

This is a bugfix that I found particularly delicious.
  • We have corrected a bug that could allow players to put more than one Curse from the Deck of Many Treasures onto an item. Characters that have more than one Curse on a particular item have had those Curses removed and replaced with Curse of the Overloaded, which must be removed with a Card of Curse Cleansing before any new Curses can be applied.

Is this game just kit sales all the way down? :ROFLMAO:

I put that on ignore a long time ago. Just wanted to skip the pointless posts.
