New race in Myth Drannor?

I wouldn't mind seeing Yugoloths added as a new playable race, although idk how I feel about 3 animal races in a row. I know it's not native to MD but possibly an eladrin elf varient? Gith would definitely be a cool addition as well. Thoughts?

My honest vote is for some kind of dwarf. Dwarf, human and elf are kinda the big core 3 races of fantasy but we only have 1 type of dwarf while we have 4.5 types of elf and 3.5 types of humans (the .5 for each being half elf). Heck we have more variety of shifters than dwarves, I didn't even know shifters existed till they got introduced in DDO. Myth Drannor also has quite a lot of both elven and dwarven influences so I could honestly see either, but I would prefer dwarf for variety.

I would also be super happy with something more out there like gith or yugoloth, would also be a cool way to finally allow evil as an alignment choice. You could even tie gith into year of the dragon with all their red dragon shenanigans.

People have been asking for Duergar like forever. But the expansion is not themed around them so it will probably not be one.

I hope Duergar comes out one day as a regular race (like Wood elf) in some dwarf underdark themed update (Mines of Tethyamar were a missed opportunity for that).

I compare DDO's races with Neverwinter Nights 2:

We are missing:
- Genasi
- Wild elf
- Yuan-Ti Pureblood

I guess the new race could be one of those 3, with Genasi being the most probable IMO because of the magic theme of the expansion.

It would be cool if they made Wild elf as a regular Wood elf like race and Genasi as a sorcerer iconic race, but they tend to make one race with 2 variants (non-iconic and iconic) so it will probably not be like that.

I want a Revenant race that does the half-elf dilletant thing but for the racial character model ( including Warforged necromantic engine type thing) and adds utility for undead class enhancements ( also, terrible palor).
It would combo very well with releasing a wizard update, creating the Necromancer archetype, spiffing up wizard with a Specialist Wizard enhancement tree and reworking Arch-mage to focus on metamagics and arcane damage.

This would be very much in tune with last year's Year of the Vecna as well as next year's Year of the Red Wizards of Thay ;)

You know what? Since we'll be doing all this wizard work, let's do up a separate Eldritch Knight archetype, people will be screaming about wizard love anyways, might as well go whole hog!

I jusr want another racial ap!

Unfortunately the 16 racial ap I already have on 2 chars might be the reason we are not getting more races anytime soon. Archtypes are much safer in that sense.

Yeah I've been suggesting for a while to add more dwarves, like hill/mountain or shield/gold in the same way as wood elves were added, then add duergar as an iconic sorcerer which would go well as a counterpart to deep gnome wizard

I would like an undead race. Yes, I could play a Pale Master or Dark Disciple for curing via Cause spells, but an undead race is much more flexible IMO.

Undead paladin sounds fun to me, or undead ranger ( = skeletal archer) is onother option. Or perhaps an Undead Blightcaster (Druid archetype). Undead alchemist with their Inflict SLA would be awesome.

Just think of the possible racial APs:
Undead immunity I: poison // disease // fear -- chose 1 at tier 1, another at teir 2 and the final one at tier 3.
Undead immunity II: Flesh to stone // Horrid Wilting and similar water-drain attacks // Energy Drain
Undead immunity (or resistance) III: Fire (blackbone) // Cold (Frostbone) // Displacement (Incorporeal) -- only get to choose one?
Lesser death aura
Death aura
Ghoul touch (paralysis)
Level drain (melee attack)
Charm (ranged gaze attack) / Dominate at higher tier
Vampiric touch (as spell)
Negative healing amp
Spectral form (permanent feather fall)
Die hard
Fangs drip venom (poison imbue?)
Tireless Undead: like second wind but for both HP and SP
Raise undead pet: only active for a few seconds after a mob is killed - dispels current pet
Raise undead (hireling): only active for a few seconds after a mob is killed - auto-dismiss current (non-gold) hireling

And the character creation options could let you look like a skeletal / wight / vampire form of a human, a dragonborn, a tiefling etc. With glowing eyes (tiny, small, large) // with empty eye sockets.

... but frankly any new race is fine. I just need one more racial AP to be completely uber at 1st level.

There are still so many good options left for a new race. I'd personally be partial to a Forgotten Realms Iconic Drow Noble (using the Wood Elf model perhaps?) and Goliath so my buddy could finally make one of his tabletop characters.
