Dual savant build wanted

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to make a build that utilizes 2 savant trees (probably air and water). The main idea was using a dragonborn same type with the tree I won't spend the majority of points and in epic destinies going for primal avatar mostly and dragonic reincarnation of whatever final spellpower feels weaker. The problem obviously is that enhancements are spread thin.
I know that most good builds are just one savant and Eldritch knight/racial, but just wanted to try something else.

So any build like that or reference to one is greatly appreciated

I think it can be a good idea in heroics... I'm doing it right now on my current TR, maxing out both lightning and fire. It's nice in situations when you face a lot of mobs that are immune to your regular element. However, I don't see any benefit at all after level 20 and I cannot recall seeing any such build... it sounds a bit sub-optimal with the current game meta. As long as you can focus on one school; evocation, it ought to be like any regular sorc with the same feats... just spending your enhancements wisely and plan out your spells and rotations as needed.

IIRC Air+Water was a popular combo after Ravenloft came out due to Thrummingspark Cord + Beacon of Magic set combo. But when SSG added immunity-stripping powers in Update 38, there was no longer any need for sorcerers to split their focus between two (or more) elements.

That said, it's not like those old builds suddenly stopped working so you could dust off the concept with, say, Blue or White Dragonborn + Draconic Incarnation + Primal Avatar's Mantle using Sky spells.

That's backwards from common wisdom (which is to make your main Strength stronger), but it certainly works for a flavor build.
I know that most good builds are just one savant and Eldritch knight/racial, but just wanted to try something else.
I feel that way sometimes.

Tiefling as pure Fire Sorc started in '19, and from there folk discovered 1-Savant + Feydark, 1 Savant + EK, 1 + Falconry, etc etc. Gotta go back a ways to find a "good ol' 2-Savant" build...

o https://forums-old.ddo.com/forums/s...y-Sorc-Build?p=5574422&viewfull=1#post5574422 (Ignore the "newbie friendly" Pali dip, posted for Enhancement split - but this won't get you to Dragon breath, that will require additional cuts*)

Some would go Air V for the Wings, some would go Ice (IV or V, + Air) for the non-Fire damage - those are all minor tweaks.

(* which gets us back to the "1 primary/strong element, 1 secondary/weaker one" philosophy. The 2nd Savant should be for resistant/immune targets, not for mere "variety/redundance" - anything else gets expensive for little to no benefit.)

A build from 2015? We can do better than that loser from the old forums! ;)

Fundamentally every pure caster-sorcerer build is going to look the same initially: i.e., max CHA, max Spellcraft, bunch of metamagic feats, etc. So you start with something like this:
DB Dual Savant
Sorcerer 20
True Neutral Dragonborn

.1 Dragon : Draconic Ancestry: White
This is Water-primary, Air-secondary; if you want to do it the other way, take Blue Ancestry, epic Electric Spellpower first, etc. With extra build points, you can max CON or put more points into INT for more skill points. And you could substitute wizard PL feat for Enlarge or Greater Spell Focus if you've got it.

Enhancements: for heroic leveling, I would focus on using SLAs for SP efficiency. It's unfortunate the Savant trees don't have any SLAs in tier-2 or -3 so you need to spend 20+ APs to get a second SLA, but so it goes.
Leveling Guide
  1. Wtr0 Water Savant; Wtr1 Cold Ray I, II, III
  2. Air0 Air Savant; Air1 Shocking Grasp I, II, III
  3. Wtr1 One with the Waves I; Wtr0 Water Affinity; Wtr2 Pierce Cold Resistance I
  4. Wtr1 One with the Waves II; Wtr2 Pierce Cold Resistance II; Wtr1 One with the Waves III
  5. Wtr2 Pierce Cold Resistance III; Wtr1 Hoarfrost I, II
  6. Wtr0 Greater Water Affinity; Wtr1 Hoarfrost III; Wtr2 Absolute Zero I, II
  7. Wtr4 Snowball Swarm I, II, III; Wtr2 Absolute Zero III
  8. Wtr1 Spell Critical; Wtr2 Spell Critical
  9. Wtr3 Spell Critical; Air1 One with the Storm I; Air0 Air Affinity
  10. Air2 Pierce Electric Resistance I; Air1 One with the Storm II
  11. Air2 Pierce Electric Resistance II; Air0 Greater Air Affinity; Air1 One with the Storm III
  12. Air2 Pierce Electric Resistance III; Wtr0 Hypothermia; Wtr5 Awaken Elemental Weakness
  13. Wtr5 Frost Lance I, II, III
  14. Wtr5 Power of Lightning; Wtr5 Evocation Focus; Air1 Electrocution I
  15. Air1 Electrocution II, III; Air2 Alternating Current I, II
  16. Air2 Alternating Current III; Air4 Electric Loop I, II, III
  17. Air0 Conduction; Air4 Feather Fall
  18. Air1 Spell Critical; Wtr0 Elemental Persistance; Wtr4 Spell Critical
  19. Dra0 Hardy I; Dra0 Dragonborn Ability I: Charisma; Dra0 Hardy II
  20. Dra0 Dragonborn Ability II: Charisma; Air2 Spell Critical

But when you get to epics, your SLAs will stop being so useful so odds are you'll be better off dropping them to focus on your higher-DPS spells / ED abilities; spend those points on, say, more CHA and Efficient Metamagic enhancements. Something like this:
Enhancements (Spent: 80 +0r +0u / Max: 80 +0r +0u AP)

Water Savant (42 AP)
  • Water Savant, Water Affinity, Greater Water Affinity, Hypothermia, Elemental Persistance, Elemental Apotheosis
    1. Spell Critical, Hoarfrost III
    2. Efficient Metamagic: Efficient Maximize III, Spell Critical, Absolute Zero III
    3. Spell Penetration, Spell Critical, Stat: Charisma
    4. Water Breathing, Spell Critical, Stat: Charisma
    5. Awaken Elemental Weakness, Icy Prison, Evocation Focus, Elemental Diversification: Power of Lightning
Air Savant (21 AP)
  • Air Savant, Air Affinity, Greater Air Affinity, Conduction
    1. One with the Storm III, Spell Critical, Electrocution III
    2. Spell Critical, Alternating Current III
    3. Spell Critical, Stat: Charisma
Dragonborn (17 AP)
  • Hardy I, Dragonborn Ability I: Charisma, Hardy II, Dragonborn Ability II: Charisma, Hardy III
    1. (none)
    2. Dragon Breath: White (Cold), Arcanum I
    3. Dragon Heritage: White (Cold) I, Power in Breath I, Draconic Knowledge: White (Cold)
    4. Augmented Breath: Relentless Breath

Epic Destinies: my idea was "White Draconic Incarnation + Primal Avatar Sky Mantle" and used the leftover points for Renewal:
Destinies (Spent: 68 (48 +20pdp) / Max: 68 (48 +20pdp) AP)

Draconic Incarnation (36 AP)
  • Draconic Bloodline: White, Draconic Heritage, Elemental Blood, Draconic Heritage II
    1. Dragonhide III, Arcane Studies III
    2. Dragon Breath III, Coalescence III
    3. Daunting-Roar, Scales of the Dragon, Draconic Spell Focus: Evocation III
    4. Pull from the Wellspring, Improve Dragon Breath: Gaping Maw, Epic Improved Metamagic: Maximize, Intensify, or Empower: Intensify III
    5. Bring About Destruction, Ruin Intensified, Dragonform, Spread Your Wings
Primal Avatar (26 AP)
  • This is your Nature: Nature of Sky, Now Grow: Thorn, Weathering the Elements, Regrowth
    1. Epic Strikes: Storm Catcher, Rejuvenation Cocoon
    2. Mantle of Nature: Sky III, Primal Spell: Thunder Snow, Spirit Boon: Mind II
    3. Ever Green III, Magic of the Old World: Evocation III
    4. Nature's Reach III, Nature's Blessing
Unyielding Sentinel (6 AP)
  • Unyielding
    1. Divine Energy Resistance, Brace for Impact II
    2. Renewal
Crystal Cove just reopened and The Drowned orb is good for a newbie cold caster. Hmm it's like I planned it that way or something...

No worries, I'll fill in for unconventional wisdom, because common wisdom is based on common limited game knowledge. Theory only this should work, but there are many game bugs.

20 Sorc, any race (I kindof like Tabaxi Trailblazer if you have racial ap for spring attack sprinting but nothing wrong with dragonborn)
Core 6 fire immunity break
T5 Acid immunity break
VKF deflect arrows (if race doesn't have it)

T5 draconic burning blood stack/mantle CDR, T4 EA wings + heals, T3 SD CDR
PL Stance + Filigree CDR

AoE rotation Meteor > DBF > Acid Well > DBF
Single target rotation Burning Blood > Burning Blood > Burning Blood > Burning Blood

Need Dripping with Magma (Red dragon armor) + Earth Attunement to add 500 fire damage scaling on fire spells, and 250 acid damage scaling on acid spells.
Burning blood should be both, but may be bugged.

Burning blood should do 200 (5 stack cast) + 500 fire + 250 acid + 20d6 (immolation savant core) + draconic mantle + (misc like cold attunement) > more than 1k base/cast scaling with spell power @1.2 second cooldown + bypass => 10 mana greater ruin equivalent-ish DoT
Against mobs without blood can just use scorching ray to half replace 250 acid with two more immolation procs for 40d6.

30% threat reduction SD + 30% EA + 20% augment (Dark Diversion) + 15% epic quiver of alacrity = 95% threat reduction, so you won't pull aggro while chain casting "10 mana greater ruin."
