Big nope from me on that one. I already get a "taking part" prezzie in a decent toon with all the login benefits (tomes etc) that you normally get on first login, not only that but I can free transfer it to another server after, taking said login benefits across with me.

Even if you peg it at 1st level your still up just by logging in IMO

I think you should get a cosmetic if you DONT login to HC, and stayed with the regular servers all season so they weren't 100% dead :)

They have that, it's first time items you get from a server, and it being a brand new server to get 5/25 favor on for quick pts. Maybe up to 100 favor if you're not lazy.

I'm a cosmetic *****, I love me some cosmetics... but this? no, just, no.

ATM you can choose to participate, and depending on your skill and dedication, you can earn as many or as few cosmetic rewards as you want. This proposal would mean you could never gain all the rewards regardless of how much time and effort you put in. I'm a fan of things being rare and even limited time to show that "you were there and did a thing", but this level of exclusivity rubs me the wrong way.

It's basically punishing people who care about cosmetics and achievements for playing the game while rewarding those who don't with something you can only get for not playing (or not playing well).

As mentioned above, we already get several benefits of just rolling a new char in each fresh season.

It's a polite "No" from me on this one.

if it were a punishment, then I would vote 'yes.' So all failed HC characters might get a donkey nose or something.

To be honest, DDO needs thousands of more cosmetics, pets, mounts, strongholds - just look at LOTRO, stellar.
OG players handbook characters could earn a keep, castle, fort, etc - where are our strongholds??
Why can't I make my warforged look like an elf? Its in the lore - it would be easy to do.
Halflings need updated racial stats to summon a dinosaur like in Eberron lore.
We need Kalashtar.
I would like to see dyes for outfits so we can recolor existing.
The old armor kits should be convertible into modern cosmetics for those of us with a lot of the old turbine armor kits.

I cannot succeed at Hardcore and thus have no interest in more cosmetic items for that system. Very specifically, I want new female human cosmetic outfits added to the normal game, to systems I can participate in, at a steady pace. Add them to random loot tables. Add them to quest end chests. Tell me where you put them so I know what quests to run. If you refuse to give me something to hunt for in DDO, I will indulge my other hobbies.

If I were in charge, I would ask my art department for one outfit a month. I would stick each such outfit into the end chests of three quests from different quest packs. That would allow each person to play the quest he or she likes most, rather than suffering through something hateful. If one in three outfits looks decent, that gives me a reason to play about every three months.

If we had the same cosmetic/collections/mounts system here as LOTRO, that'd be a win. Right now, we don't have anyplace to put them all.
I completely agree! We need the lotro systems here in DDO - LOTRO has such fab cosmetic/mounts/pets/housing/parties/events - really is stellar. I love my lotro toons - I want SSG to let me have a party with my ddo toons and my lotro toons together at the same time!

Yeah more cosmetics and better cosmetics system instead of them taking up space would be awesome. Much better focusing on cosmetics for main microtransactions than selling power and basic QoL too.

I had the strangest dream the other night...

I dreamt they gave out a little cosmetic that floated over your head when you applied it. Each HC gave 1, and it was simply a skull that floated in the air over your head... each skull had a number on its forehead to indicated which HC it was from.. and if you applied a 2nd, the previous fell back off so you could only wear 1 at a time.
.
But lag being what it is, even in my dreams.. it allowed you to pile them all on at once if you were quick enough... so Stormreach was overrun with gobs of people running around with packs of skulls floating over their heads and blinding everyone in quests & blocking their line of sight.
.
It was a madhouse...
