I've written a brief outline in 4 or 5 pages of a small notebook for one of my stories, but I am unfamiliar with the term "structure document." "Integrated novella" is also a new term for me.

I will have to look these up.

Thanks.

EDIT: Do you perhaps mean a "structured document"?

Integrated novellas are my term for short stories that blend together and can produce a much longer work when completed. It's easier, in my opinion, to write a series of coherent short stories and then integrate them into a longer work when they're mostly completed. Also you can stay with the short story format if you get blocked on part of the work as you write.

A structure document is just the layout of your intended work. It sounds like you have already done that with your pages of notes.

Sounds more like a "serial novel". A good example would be Stephen King's "The Green Mile". It was released as six individual short stories/novels before being compiled into one.

I used to play a whole lot of DDO.

Then I started playing Inventory Management Online w/ the Gear Tetris DLC....

0/10. Would not recommend.

For a very long time, my yearly cycle is something like...play hard for one month...play moderately for one month...roll dice for one month...pursue other interests for 9 months. I am currently in the latter phase.

DDO is still fun to play in small doses but in hindsight, the developers wrote me out of the game 8 years ago. Numerous attempts to explain my problems and seek remedy have very obviously failed. I am just not the target customer.

If you could elaborate: what exactly pushed you away? What do you mean by 'target customer'?

I picked the less than 5 hours as there is not a no longer play option.
I guess 0 is less than 5 so it works.

Elminster, I wrote a long response to your two questions. It was bitter, futile, and unhelpful so I deleted it. There is already far too much unhappiness in these forums.

My ultimate advice to all the good people at Standing Stone Games is that they should make the game they enjoy making.

I'll continue to swing by every so often to claim Year of the Dragon stuff and particularly good coupon codes. My magic mirrow can see no further.
