But it was the devs who nerfed the spell shiradi procs with absolutely unrealistic assumptions about the speed with which we can cast spells. Do you think they are going to admit that they were wrong? They are much more likely to leave shiradi dead and buried for casters.
What bugged me about Shiradi is that back when they first put the new epic destinies on Lam everyone in the forums told them that Shiradi was overpowered for casters and that it would be the primary damage source for magic missile spammers in particular.
They might have walked back a lot of the nerfs. We don't know yet until the final release notes tomorrow.
The max caster level of dragonbreath being brought down to 20. No chance that is being reversed.
The straight damage reduction of Dragonbreath? Small chance of the nerf being reduced.
Exalted Angel healing aura? It's gone.
Holy Fireball being unnerfed? Very little chance.
Hunt's End being returned to it's former form? Very little chance.
Ranged AOE epic strikes being increased in power to make AOE more effective in Epics? Good chance.
Arrow of Slaying being changes to compensate for losing synergy with Hunt's End? Very good chance.
Repeaters firing only one explosive bolt on an AOE attack while maintaining all the disadvantages of using a repeater. Good chance of being undone.

If the hybrid caster in Shadow Dancer is not going to go to Magus of the Eclipse (Magus means Magush which means Magician - an illusionist.) then it should rightfully go to Shiradi as Shiradi was and is a made hybrid tree. It was a hybrid tree from the start and could use a buff to casters in a better way than it is now.
Again Shadow Dancer was forced to be hybrid tree when it never was one before
The illusion caster in it should always of gone to Magus, as that is what it literally means.
If the devs don't want to, then put it in Shiradi to boost its hybrid caster side.
It makes no sense to change a Shadow Dancer Martial Tree to Magus caster Tree and water down all that was a stealth martial tree to a light side splash Tree, that everyone whores it's first two-three tiers and cores.

It's so disrespectful to what the tree was before and how it was represented to how it's made to be now and is not taken seriously as a legitimate stand alone Tree.

While other trees are getting nerfed, Shadow Dancer has been amputated since the promise new Epic Destiny revamp, "with Now! more choices than before!" lies.
And Meld was just One Small Thing that could of been adjusted and that would of been fine.

Shadow Dancer still has no:
CC ( -Shadow Manipulation)
Stealth Executioner type strike
AOE attack (oh ya, Weird but not)
No Pass through enemies

Hopefully these get addressed in this patch.

Assassinate is not a Spell, it's Physical Damage.
Deathward blocks Magical Effects not Physical Damage.
For balance of Red Names or Boss it's understandable but Assassinate should then adopt a Mortal Fear aspect strike or for Red Name/Boss fights it could be lowered to Lesser Mortal Fear(instead half HP maybe 20-25%HP). Even if it was triggered on Epic Moment.

Would someone be kind enough to explain this to me?

Was something broken? Is it only so you can decide if you was to aggro single target or aggro AoE or is there something else to this?

I'm not happy with forum user caused change. What a total nutter whine that caused that swap. I've tanked without shields, still a dumb change.

A lot of comments on SD regarding Assassinate. Remember now that there are *4* trees with skills that use assassinate modifiers, not just Assassinate (Rogue Assassin tree). I'd like to see improvements to *all* of these, giving other classes such as dark Monks, Dark Hunters, and Falconry builds a reason to deep dive into SD.

The original PnP Shadowdancer PrC also had shadow manipulation in the form of a summoned shadow. There's plenty of opportunity for that in DDO, either as a diversion (similar to Ninja Spy's ability) or as a "dps burn" on bosses where you essentially have a shadow for X seconds that doubles all of your attacks.
Lots of options here.

That said, the alteration of SD is *not* for the better. Plenty of good ideas in this thread, Devs. I hope you take their thoughts into consideration.

They should have added an Eidolon Summons effect in the tree somewhere ala Necklace of Mystic Eidolons (that Shadow is pretty tough, too - he stays alive and times out more than he dies).
