Looks like it is time to moderate all new accounts

I think it is a deliberate ploy, instigated by someone at SSG, to deflect attention away from the (not) wonderful VIP updates they have announced.

They're already supposed to be doing that lol. Cordo talked about it weeks/months ago. He said ALL new accounts would be verified by him and even their first few posts would have to be okayed.

They should also limit all users to only posting like 3 new threads per day. Then the spam wouldn't fill up pages of the forums.

Sure, it would also catch some users who aren't bots, but I see it as a positive, because usually those users are spamming low effort threads when something made them salty

We do moderate all new accounts, all posters in fact under a certain post count, but these spammers managed to slip through by making innocuous posts until they were no longer in the moderation queue. We'll have to look further into it. The activity indicates a less robotic effort on the part of the spammers.

The fact that someone would put effort into spamming ddo forums at all is kind of pathetic. This is a small, dedicated community. I'd be extremely surprised if I found out they'd made any profits off their efforts.

I noticed the spam did all come from one account, so yeah that suggests its "artisanal" spam :D

Which does make it a whole lot easier to moderate, because its not Cordo vs an endless army of robots, its just Cordo vs one dude manually circumventing the automated defenses.

I like the sound of "artisanal" spam! Curated from only the most choicest cuts of stuff you didn't ask for nor wanted to know about. 😍

I was going to put up a poll about who had the better offering, SSG VIP program or Abu Dabai Call girls, but I thought it might get me in trouble.

Thanks for cleaning up all that Garbage Cordovan, what a headache.
