No no no. No to major changes in the builds. You have no idea the kind of anger a change like that would create, and I'm sure we would lose a lot of players again. No. Giving and taking away is very bad design.

If they want to expand the builds, stop designing only for a small segment of them. Nerfing the specialists doesn't help the generalists, full stop.
Fair enough. Like I said, I don't expect you to agree. :)

Just one last comment: I'm not proposing the change to happen abruptly and without warning. I agree that would bring unnecessary distress. It could be something they announce months ahead of it happening, to give people time to adapt to it. It even could be paired with some other changes that improve upon the current support for multi elements in general. No need to be just stick, there can still be some carrot attached to it.

Cheers,

Cant wait till they hammer ice from orbit see if you still have the same tune then

If you really want balance that is
Assuming you were addressing me...: I don't min-max already, man. I don't even use the frozen wanderer filligree set you mentioned. And cold is the least important of my elements. And I never asked people to hammer any elements, anyways - so I don't really get where you're coming from.

Cheers,

And you don't use any ice cc either all the blanket nerfs are because of over powered ice builds

I think you are missing the point, I am in the middle of leveling as a rouge at level 26, I just ran Wiz-King this morning on r4 solo, and murdered him in under a minute. I got a 6k base damage crit with over 1k sneak attack damage off of adrenaline on a monster that is supposed to be immune to crits and sneak attacks, an air or water savant would likely run out of spell points before killing him if not for immunity stripping. If you don't want spell casters to be able to do this fine, go ahead and remove it, as long as every other class is getting equal treatment. No bypassing any obstacles put in the way of any dps anywhere, if you run into something you just can't kill, you have to rely on someone else to do it for you.

P.S.: Just as a note, sonic is really not a good parameter as a main element because even though pretty much nothing is immune to it, all those sonic spells combined still do not give me a full, 100% uptime rotation
With 40% CDR bard can do a Soundburst > GS > S > S SLA > GS > S AoE rotation

With 30% CDR Sorc can run a GS > S rotation

But the reason for the immunity bypass and specialization isn't game balance, as recognized it creates game imbalance. It is to create specialists and game variety, extending the life of the game. Otherwise, someone would mathematically "solve" the generalist class setup as a CC/DPS/tanky/Instakill all purpose bestness, and then SSG would be forced to step in and hard nerf to create variety and break up the status quo, which does cause people to become unhappy.

For example, with out stripping, every druid would be ice to get the physical half of tsunami/ice flowers. Oh wait...
Every Alc would be acid, and every sorc would be necro.
