Purchase I regret

At least from my perspective it's worth it even if there are a few spots where positioning the hireling is difficult or even impossible. Based on my experience it's definitely over 95% effective within a reasonable level range, but that includes a few where it took me many tries to succeed.

If they offered one more hireling that was around level 10-11 it would be possible to cover all the level ranges with buffing. Without buffing there needs to be more.

To the extent specific spots are listed hopefully SSG will fix what they can. Extending the range a hireling can disable seems like the easiest fix, but I have no idea if that is easy or even possible within existing tech.

Correct. It may be your first time. Yet this is the salient point.

"TBH I'd ask for refund on my Salthmarsh purchase, and get just basic one, if I believed it would pass."

And you can't. Nobody can. Ever. And if you refund the purchase on your card, your account is locked.

I've had buyers remorse more than once. For me, this has created a total lack of trust. This, along with a couple of other specific reasons, are why I no longer spend money on this game.

And if I cannot trust that purchased product operates as promised, and if there is zero recourse for when it doesn't, then why would I risk spending money down the road? Being a fiscally responsible human and all, if I'm going to risk money then I'd rather do it at a casino. :)

SSG has a proven track record of not caring and stonewalling. So, sorry. You aren't happy with it. You want your money back. Here we are in the same boat. Now what? You've said your piece, as so many of us have, and it will go nowhere, as so many of us have discovered.

Really sorry that it's like this, and wish you could get a refund. But this is SSG being SSG.

It’s pretty frustrating when you specifically purchase based on the faulty hirelings.

If you can’t get a refund, at least try to find a positive—the teleport clickey for Saltmarsh is really good. Easy access to mail, bank, auctioneer, and closest portal to airship. The portal is also a very quick path (without teleport) to Gatekeepers grove and Keep on the Borderlands.

Off topic: What teleport clickey drops in Saltmarsh? I have a toon who's really sick of getting and then delivering Ghola Fan's head.

Yeah, what Onyxia said.
I wasn’t specific, but I didn’t mean a typical teleport spell clickie like the mask of Ghola Fan.

Each of the Expansions starting with Ravenoft included as expansion-specific teleport item that was bundled with the top-tier package.

Also, the mask is not bound, so check the auction house and shard exchange—you may get lucky.

Ultimate Saltmarsh

I bought it only so I had permanent gold seal lockpicker and, while heroic Froggo can unlock locks in high heroics if he's a bit boosted, problem is that WAY TO MANY locks are outside his interaction radius.

Way to often you can't get him to interact with locks, which is, in my case his MAIN purpose, MAIN reason I bought that pack.

You are talking about "fiscal irresponsibility" while cheating people who support you out of their money.

this would be akin to selling someone a car that sometimes can't accelerate properly, for the most part it works normally, but occasionally it does not and we all know what happens when company sells defective car line. (they get recalled)

worst part is that this would be easy fix by just letting locks have increased interaction radius like traps have, I never had issue getting Froggo to interact with traps, yes sometimes he triggers trap by stepping on it. but main part is he INTERACTS with it, and if his skill is enough disables it, with locks you can forget it because he can't even interact with it.

TBH I'd ask for refund on my Salthmarsh purchase, and get just basic one, if I believed it would pass.
It wont, I tried with Vecna...

Thanks for the clarification. I shall continue killing Ghola Fan with a little less angst now.

I never regret spending money on playable content in the game. Froggo was a game changer when he came out (he is leagues above what you can get in the DDO store).

I do regret buying the Underdark coffer. The panther is cool looking, but honestly was not worth the $$$ in the long run.

Sorry, Drunken'dx. Been there.

Kinda funny. I would love to have those 4 hires, bugs and all, if the price was right. Could stop taking /2 Rogue on a bunch of characters. Play my Paladin and Warlock way more aggressively.

Still hoping the old Panther, Owlbears, and Scarecrows make it into the game shop or cash shop at a decent price.

I just wanted to have lockpicker for my barb, but while hes great when he can unlock, there are some things he can't and it's just frustrating.

I did notice a pattern that it's always something bit off the floor, and he has issues with reaching lock zone, sometimes porting him around can get him to interact, but at enough cases doesn't.

That's why I suggested changing lock interaction to be similar to trap interaction since I never had him fail to interact with trap.

I sincerely hope the function can be improved of completely fixed. Luxury hires probably generate a fair amount of interest in higher tier expansions. If they work well, more high tier expansions get sold and players are happy with the purchase.

My barbarian has /2 rogue for the same purpose but does not have quite enough skill points to pull it off. Pure character plus healer hire plus rogue hire would make things much easier for me.

Will not happen. I've given up on that.

I vaguely remember Miss Tolero(?) fairly recently saying something about adding old expansion luxury items to the game shop. Maybe that was one of my many delusional fantasies. Dunno. If it ever happens, I expect a high initial price followed by one or perhaps two sale opportunities. Still feel like an idiot for not purchasing the white panther.

Seems crazy not to do that. I can't imagine all the potential sales they have lost for no reason other than the slim hope people might give in to FOMO and drop an absurd amount of money on their top expansion bundle. It's fine to sell those. I'm sure a lot of people buy them but why not then add those items to the shop in six months like the content? Or, if SSG is so inclined, still keep them exclusive to the cash shop on the website but still sell the extras by themselves. Maybe someone wants the sentient stone but doesn't care for the hireling, or vice versa? These are cash infusions SSG is deliberately choosing to miss out on. It is perplexing.

I mentioned somewhere couple of days ago that person in SSG that makes decisions about monetization in DDO is VERY BAD at their job.

And that's a hill I will defend till sun engulfs Terra

I have to assume there is some rational motive for the decisions that are made but I would think growing profitability would be first and foremost, no? I remember the last time I came around this community was discussing this very topic back then. Players are telling the company what they are willing to spend money on and SSG is just like "meh."
