Really? The Jump Cakes?

Yes they did. Just one of the MANY disappointments this dev team has chosen to change in game. They COULD have changed the Medusa Cookie to FoM instead of the absolutely useless Flesh to Stone it has which even kobolds in WW save against every time...

They've pretty much nerfed any cookie even remotely useful into absolute uselessness. One of the many reasons I just sell coins and don't even bother to turn anything in now. There used to be some situational decent stuff, but now it's just inventory clutter and not even worth the time it takes to talk to the jester.

Yep. It's been a recent trend with the dev decisions and special/seasonal events. They're slowly but surely nerfing any of the truly useful rewards into mediocrity or even complete uselessness. Look at the new clicky rewards from the recent Night Revels event compared to the old ones for example.

Not really sure why they're doing this though. It seems to me the goal for itemization in the limited-time events would be to create things that make players WANT to run them, not the opposite? But after pages of negative feedback on the new Night Revel clickies, Steelstar essentially told everyone, 'if you don't like them, don't use them'.

At this point, most of the event rewards are just useless inventory filler. Mabye that's SSG's endgame? Clog players storage up with junk so they'll buy more space?

Or maybe they realize these events cause additional lag at a time when the regular lag is slowly but steadily getting worse in spite of their supposed fixes (aka nerfs)? Maybe they know they can't really fix the lag so they're doing this to lessen the number of people who run the events and thus minimize the extra lag?

I realize that sounds like a conspiracy theory but there doesn't seem to be any logical explanations for them making changes/nerfs like this, so crazy is all we've got left.

If there is anything good in any years' Festivult, expect it to be changed in the subsequent years. If it somehow didn't change, it was an oversight that will be corrected asap. If there is something that seems useless and feels bad to use, it won't change ever.

The Jester enjoys dark humor that way. He's the only one who is laughing, but he don't care he's having his fun.

Just check Naura Beesbliss's wares regularly until she sells an item with 3 charges of jump (pawnbroker in the Three Finger Thad's ship amenity). It's better than a cookie since it gains back its charges daily/up on resting.

In the interest of being helpful, and at the risk of rousing some ire...

Losing Jump cookies was unfortunate. However, Minimum Level 1, Caster Level 10 Jump potions will be available during the upcoming Snowpeaks event. While Jump cookies were essentially free, since Festivult coins are earned through actions already undertaken by the player, earning them was at random. Icy Potions of Jump require collecting keys and running the slide, actions that take time away from questing, but Icy Potions of Jump are a guaranteed payout for 10 silver coins each. Anyone can accumulate a stockpile in a few hours.

Similar Jump potions are available at any time for 35 Mysterious Remnants.

Syrania, The Azure Sky Jelly Cakes became Freedom of Movement. If I recall correctly, they were previously a healing potion or Jump. In my opinion, this is advantageous.

There is now a cookie that turns the user into a snowman for one minute. I think that one is new.

Keep your cookies. Some year, a bad cookie may become a good cookie. Likewise, use the good cookies before they become bad cookies.

I will not weigh in on the other complaints brought up in this thread.

You know i have been saying this stuff for years and people have been living in denial or giving the benefit of the doubt, the onoy time i have truly seen the community come together is when I played the martyr on the xp changes and watched the community finally rally together. They need to do kore of this SSG has felt empowered for much too long, take a stand community and rally together.

Since the 1st season of Festavault we were told the cakes/cookies would change based on alignment with other planes, since the 2nd season they have changed. I think they were trying to encourage us to use them during the year.

Don't forget about the +20 jump pots available in the Harbor from Amber vial collectable turn-ins! Cheap and easy and even 1st level characters can farm collectables & use these pots too!!
This is one of the real shames of this game. I would dare say that most people only think of collectables for Cannith Crafting. But there are a number of useful items that people can get for them. The problem is they are spread all over heck and they are not advertised or mentioned really anywhere.

If they were to move these collectors to a common area, at least per zone, that would help. Don't tuck them away in some corner or spread them all over the zone.

To further promote this, have a weekly bonus/sale/promotion the 'Collectors' put on. that they offer multiple rewards for the one turn in, or discounts on what they offer. This would get the word out to newer players and even some vets that may have forgotten about them, that there are options to get twink or other useful items from collectors.

They may need to adjust what some of the collectors give to make them worthwhile in the modern game but IMO, this is a very underused aspect of the game that could be enhanced.

For folks not aware you should regularly check Naura - she uncommonly sells level 1 gear with 3x/day clickies of level 1 spells like jump, shield, protection from evil, etc. Over time I've collected multiple of each I carry on my characters that can't caste these themselves.

Ummm... the snowman cosmetic look is amazing! Also, a ton of the cookies are very useful. I tend to agree with the sentiment of "if you don't like it, don't use it". Also- coins can be turned in for cursed cards, a move I appreciate- even if it did make coins a ton more valuable/scarce.

As someone with 2 full cookie jars and a bank character for just cookies... I'm still a fan. :)
