Why hasn't the LAG and other technical issues not been resolved?

Why does it seem like lag and tech issues never ever get resolved?(keeps coming back)... PICK 3

  • Because it's not a software issue it's a hardware issue and SSG no have the $$$ to get new equip

  • Because the game is built on legacy code that's impossible to decipher after the 99 developers later

  • Because the DDO leadership does not consider it to be of high priority.

  • Because DDO has priorities to sell new product/content and cannot divert resources to lag

  • Because SSG through Enad7 doesn't really care about DDO players

  • Because there are too many new players coming into DDO

  • Too many players are playing DDO now!

  • Poor quality code writing.

  • Lack of a dedicated Q/A team.

  • There is no Lag or Tech issues, it's all in the minds of the players.

Your poll has more than half of its answers being non-constructive. You might get better results if you had a more balanced approach. The one opposing answer is "There is no Lag or Tech issues, it's all in the minds of the players" which makes the people that voted with it not vote for any other options. Why? because you worded them extremely bias'd or offensive.

The CEO of Larian Studios touched on this with his gripe about Hasbro/Publishers. These studios will get rid of their knowledgeable people to earn more money at the cost of performance/creativity/problem solving, and then they end up reinventing the wheel or never solving issues. He specifically said this is why he does not want to partner with Hasbro at this time. They are making their own IP to avoid this in the future.

I have to suspect this happens in a lot of MMOs, and why we get wild swings in expansion/quest "quality". Not just DDO. But all games.

Ask yourself why it took them until Monday to get the game back up, and it was up fairly quickly, over the weekened we lost service. Almost like they had to hire a contractor to come fix things, because no one on the team is knowledgeable enough to fix whatever the issue was.

Let's discuss; after several years of the same lag and technical issues occuring why in your opinion has the lag not been resolved?
This poll seems a bit extreme with the answers choices all being venomous and designed to hit the people running the game.

Yes, it's an old game that does work as well as many newer ones. It also doesn't have 100,000 people playing it.

Should they do more on the lag and tech issues? Most people would say of course including myself. The amount of vitriol you added to the poll choices was a bit overboard.

Agree, it looks like an angry rant, not a poll.

Started playing in 2018 with the thought "old game? great! all the bugs are fixed by now." Later, I found they literally leave known bugs in place and don't bother fixing them for years.

They don't fix bugs because they don't want to fix them. They could easily take the mountain of known bugs and whittle 'em down -- fix 20~30 easy once each week. They don't. If the bug doesn't threaten the survival of the game, it's just not important enough for them to fix.

Have you even looked at the latest release notes and seen the bug fixes in them?
