DDO Bonus Days!

I will never understand your marketing.

For your Anniversary...

Plan a MASSIVE nerf patch, that predictably is full of bugs.
Have the same event with no new rewards.
Have a lack luster DDO Store sales line up.
And have a pretty underwhelming Bonus Days. (i.e. Last weeks was an order of magnitude better).

It is like the NFL, for opening day having the two worst teams from the previous year playing on a streaming service that no one uses.

Wait, are you two using the same marketing team?

Thats funny because it has a lot of truth to it.

If they thought ahead, they could have made this a VIP bonus XP weekend to drive those Otto’s sales even harder and get some VIP subscriptions to go along with it.

Hmmmm...

Lawful Evil Sith Lady / Sith Lord sinister plan:

1) Add new class archetype in order to make 'Gotta Have Em All' types not have em all.
2) Significantly change character design paradigm in order to make 'Be All You Can Be' types not all they can be.
3) Put a bunch of super villains and a few innocent bystanders into super villain jail.
4) Hold a double points sale.
5) Put Otto's Boxes in the game shop for a few days.
6) 'Gotta Have Em All' types purchase points, then Otto's Boxes, having em all again.
7) 'Be All You Can Be' types purchase points, then game shop supplies, and are all they can be again.
8) Super villains purchase a bunch of Astral Shards, then compete for Curse Cleanser Cards on the Astral Shard Auction House. Behind the scenes, drop a few extra Curse Cleanser Cards. Bonus: Strip away some super duper Astral Shards from super villains.

That seems fairly clever to me.

Or...

Lawful Good Jedi Mistress / Jedi Master altruistic plan:

1) Add new class archetype and give it away for free to make players happy, having something new and fun to play with.
2) Change epic destiny system to create a better foundation for long term growth of the system. Much like building a bypass, this may cause some pain to innocent citizens, but will make Stormreachopolis a better place in the long term.
3) Change a law that was accidentally benefiting super villains, then punish super villains who abused the law. Unfortunately, a building or lava or Thor's Hammer may fall on a few innocent bystanders. Sorry. If super villains would stop being villainous, such measures would not be necessary. It is one million percent the fault of super villains and all innocent bystanders show blame a super villain for all their woes including bad breath, marital problems, and excessive taxes.
4) As a courtesy for players wishing to skip the new class archetype and/or adjust their characters and/or pay a fine to the Hall of Justice, hold a double points sale.
5) As a courtesy for players wishing to radically change their characters, put Otto's Boxes in the game shop for a short time.
6) Players wishing to skip the new archetype may purchase points and then Otto's Boxes. These fees are used to plant new trees and rebuild Stormreachopolis for the good of all.
7) Players wishing to forgo game play and change their characters immediately may purchase points and then game shop items for that purpose. These fees are used to place stray kittens and puppies in good homes, improve Kobold sewer quality of life, and make Stormreachopolis even better.
8) Super villains may purchase double bonus points, then Astral Shards, and compete for Curse Cleanser Cards on the Astral Shard Auction House, allowing them a way to get out of jail more quickly. Fees thus obtained are used to pave roads, improve schools, and make Stormreachopolis a great place to raise a family. As an added benefit, super villain will spend some of their ill gotten gains.

This seems suitable altruistic.

Oh no! They are the same thing but completely different! Which could it be??? *puts hands on cheeks and makes a big Oooooooo mouth*

*and so our dippy heroine, Sophie the Exotic Items Recovery Specialist, sometimes called a cat burglar because she wears a cat suit and likes hopping on roof tops, wastes yet another hour of her life making a forum post few will read, fewer will comprehend, and no one will care about*

Perhaps it's an admission these problems will take a while to fix. No point getting disappointed about another bad bonus if the game is near unplayable. It's not like we are missing out on anything good.

I'm honestly also pretty surprised we didn't get a big xp bonus for the anniversary, seems like the perfect time with trying to get people to log on, level up some dragon lords, and probably even pick up VIP while its up. I'm sure theres people out there excited for the guild renown, but it does seem like a pretty meager offering to get people to play during the opening of the event.

Although more honestly its probably mostly just me being selfish and wanting another good exp week to level a dragon lord and test other builds out.

I was kinda pumped for this weekend, as I have a solo guild I put my alts into... but I just can't. The mouse look sensitivity and fps issues are just too much. I can normally look and play past minor issues, but I just can't with this. It's too painful to play more than 3 quests in a row.

Same! Especially the mouse look sensitivity thing is stopping me from playing. Everytime I turn it up it goes down again...
Hopefully they can fix it asap... This is not good for the Anniversary event at all. Having returning players and new players run into these issues...

100% the same. I really want to finish off my estar sagas and turn them in for guild renown. But I find myself only able to do 1 chain (estar 1, druids, etc.) before I the FPS drop annoys me to the point where I log off and do something else for a while.

Just needed lost at sea for sharn saga. Load into quest + load sea cavern + load into the arena fight because I was a bit behind...logged off the fps and mouse issues are really disorienting and jarring. Doing other things because it's not worth the frustration.

Lag is a disease, as contagious as polio, as contagious as bubonic plague ... attacking one, but infecting all.
Ah, but curable. 💉

Here endeth the lesson.

How quickly are the FPS issues hitting people?

We ran 14 dungeons in a row last night before it became noticeable.

The mouse sensitivity affected some of us, not others.

Only a guaranteed reaper frag bonus would get me to log just saying that would be a decent bonus

For me I notice things degrading after 1-2 quests or raids, and by the end of the 3rd quest/raid it's frustrating, by the 4th it's causing me to struggle enough that mistakes happen, movement around corners becomes difficult and sometimes I run into walls, etc. or I have to slow down and use keyboard only movement and even then it's awkward.

How about an extension of "Bonus Days." as well . . . Playing another game atm cause this one is not calling to me... too much frustration; games = fun. DDO does not = fun atm.

I noticed it in first. Mouse-look gets stupid on entering quests.
