How to get an Imgur image to display in signature

Howdy,

I was unable to get my signature image to display from an Imgur link. I tried all the options and unsure how to make the signature display the image.

Any suggestions or is it we can no longer use images in our signature?

Side note, I'm unable to add images to posts that will display as well.

You should be able to directly add images from Imgur or link to them via the media feature.

If you attempted to use the old IMG method and it failed, you likely were in the wrong editing mode. For example, try clicking the [ ] 'Toggle BB' code icon. It also looks like there are some weird XenForo forum bugs regarding inserting inline CODE samples. The 'Media' or 'Insert Image' icons should work, but they do different things.

It has. I've been swamped at work and came down with a bad cold. Thankfully not Covid woot woot! I set my alarm for the New DDO Forum launch, but slept through it hahahaha! I hope my neighbors can forgive me

The avatar finally posted, but not the sig. or images.

Thank you all for responding and for looking into the Imgur weirdness. I will try the sig. again tonight or tomorrow.

Side note, this is my first multi-quote and it was slick. I forgot to try and snip the image. Seems I have alot to learn and get used, but I find that fun.

Also, I recycled my old forum image and moved into that position, because I thought it looked cool to have a drop shape. You can use a dropper to get the forum background color to make an avatar pop. I might try that later on as well. Here's an example from a sticker I took a photo of a long time ago as an example from the old forums:

*hugs* Ddo hsa tbeen good to me, Waterssong has hit triple completion in classes and iconics, and is close on epics and racials. Rl is being a bit mean, I survived Covid in January but found out I need some sorta leg surgery. I'll survive, and have DDO to keep me company and entertained once that happens during healing. LOL

I did get to go to the beach in February. Despite limping like a crazy lame turtle (i'm waiting for the formal diagnosis, but it's the leg that they had to surgically put together as an infant so I could walk and something probably gave out) I went on another cruise wtih Coddex, we were celebrating our 24th anniversary and my 51st birthday. And there were caribbean beaches! It was glorious! LOL I SO miss living in a coastal state of the US where I could go to the beaches any day I wanted in summer, but the cost of living inland is more manageable. LOL Send me pics of your beach Liv!

I suffer the high cost of living, because I feel the need to be near the ocean. My 2 favorite places are Russian Gultch and Stump Beach.

Wow, that is gorgous. My favorite place growing up was Island Beach State Park, it wasn't as built up with stuff as places like Atlantic City, Asbury Park, Wildwood, etc. SO it was way less crowded and you could just hang on hte beach and there was plenty of free parking around. A must for teens! LOL

This is the lighthouse from my neck of the woods, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point_Arena_Light and I live only 20 minutes away from Bodega and 40 from the City.

Tiny caution on signature images: keep 'em small or I suspect people will disable displaying them, which puts your efforts to naught.

IMHO, I'd love for there to be more control over how I see signatures. It's currently just ON or OFF; eg. I'm OK with full giant ones on the first post in a new thread because that's your thread, but after that, I pretty much am only OK seeing them if the post or reply takes up at least 2x the space as the signature.

A one line post with a 20 line signature is just ... ugh. If that starts happening, I'd turn them all off. Feeling like I need to turn them off would annoy me even more, because I do love their creativity. I just don't like seeing them over and over and over and over and over in the same thread or when the post is all sig and no meat.

Just be aware that Sandy hook is a highly commercialized beach (or it was in my childhood, I hvaen't lived in Jersey for like 30 years now, and the storms change the beaches and where people go from time to time, Sandy hook was completely demolished and rebuilt twice in my family's memory). I went there often as a child though as it was the beach my grandparents know, I branched out in my teen years because we were looking for a less crowded but still public beach to hang out and not bother or be bothered by ohters and that's when we discovered Island Beach (which I have no idea why they call it that, not an island, no islands anywhere near). If you go say hi to my baby turtlehood!

Yes! That is Teen Turtle's favorite place! LOL We sailed outta Bayonne, NJ on this last cruise because my lifelong best friend still lives in NJ and I got to spend the night before my birthday with her, but it was February so we didn't visit the beaches. It was litearlly six degrees. but we managed to have fun anyway.
