I'd put 12 in strength and 8 in int instead, 1/ for encumbrance 2/ shadows strength drain insta kills you if you hit 0 and don't have/forgot death ward and i don't think you really benefit from int aside from skill points anyway; you would cut the jump skill points as a result because you take the jump spell.

with another race he would get 18 constitution, max wisdom, nothing for the other attributes.

Nice ! I've been thinking I may try a Warforged Blightcaster, as it fits so well as one, with automatically being treated as a fleshy as a Blightcaster Druid. I ran one and liked it. I usually do a Warforged pure Arti. I suppose I will wait to see more info on the season first tho. :giggle:

I select Drow for flavor only - so you could swap with any other race and reassign the abilities that fit your particular likes.

it is a good point about the stat drain until you get death ward. Usually, I carry spawn screen scrolls and umd them.

Warforged really are the best race for HCL so a robot blight caster would be cool - I really have a hard time with Warforged appearance - in pen and paper, you can get really creative with warforged appearances. I suggested in the past to SSG docents that altered our bodies to make us look like robotic humans, elves, gnomes, etc. If they implemented that I would probably always play warforged lol

yes, I hear you on appearance, when I make a WF on hardcore or occasionally on live for that matter, I cosmetic it a lot. Sometimes I use the Saltmarsh cosmetics set and look like a giant 'Croco-duck' hehe . Sadly a lot of armors like the Sharn caster set robe, looked nice for only part of one life I tried, then it somehow bugged out and looks like something ate half my outfit and looks dorky. Most outfits/armors even look like I only have half a shirt on and lost my pants somewhere. Very glitchy.. *sigh.
Plus I call myself a 'Groot' and my blood is maple syrup.. (ya, Canadian eh) :devilish:
Can't wait to see what other info on HC stuffs etc will be.

  • If you are a Warforged, you are no longer considered a Construct, and can now be healed normally by positive energy spells and you have become immune to repair spells. (in any of the Blightcaster shapes).. I ran as a WF and it was fun! Did not have to spend any action points in the healing aspect in the WF tree, which was kewl.

So can you go adamantine? Or mithral only?

I read something on ddo wiki: can you confirm that shield mastery feats give more hit points than toughness feats to a druid?

Pardon the necro, but just read this tonight and saw no one had answered. I thought I'd answer this as this topic is not very clear and can be counter intuitive especially to newer or returning players.

Yes, you receive more HPs from taking the shield mastery feats than you do for taking toughness.

The combat style feats were changed a while back to grant additional hit points as a way to make melee characters more survivable. The feats that grant these bonus HPs are the two-handed, two-weapon, single-weapon and natural fighting feats as well as the shield mastery feats. You gain a bonus to your base hit points (called the Heroic Durability feat) for each of these feats you take up to a max of four. The amount of this bonus varies based of your class, but you always receive significantly more HPs from a fighting style feat than you do from toughness.

The only times you'd want to take toughness instead of a combat style feat is if you want to qualify for the Epic and Legendary Toughness feats and/or if you already have four combat style feats and still want more HPs. Also, toughness is available with no prerequisites and no stat requirements at level one, so there could be times when you want to take toughness at a lower level because you don't want to wait until you reach the higher BAB required for some feats.

See the DDO wiki entry on Heroic Durability for more details.

so I don't necessarily need to equip a shield for shield mastery feats to give additional hit points or be in wolf/bear form to get additional hit points from natural fighting I guess.

Thank you for your response :)
