Snowpeaks Suggestions

The Snow Peaks event typically happens after Festivult and typically has been starting in January. We'll have more information about timing when we get closer to the date.

Because we will be coming up on Snowpeaks in the next? quarter I thought now might be a good time to make some suggestions for rewards.

Filigree:
Snow Peak's Gifts Wisdom (because why shouldn't my druid be able to use this too?)

Augments:
Sapphire of Freezing Ice Guard (Level 4)
Sapphire of Fireshield Cold (Level 8 as on Confiscated Heavy Mail)
Epic Ruby of Snowpeaks (Level 28 with Epic Freezing Ice as on Epic Leopard's Chill plus 4d8 cold damage)

Higher level augments should have a commensurately higher level cost in snowpeaks coins.

Items:
Frostgiant's Staff (Level 4 Quarterstaff Chilling and Minor Freezing Ice BTA) Use Ferrocrystal Quarterstaff as base item
Crossbow of Iceshards (Level 4 Greatcrossbow Chilling and Minor Freezing Ice BTA) Use Ferrocrystal Greatcrossbow as base item

Cosmetics:
Snow Fairy Wings
Snowflake Trail (Not footsteps but simply a trail of snowflakes that follow the character and disappear after a few seconds)
Winter Hood ( A hood using the White Hood of Schemes as base but colored to match the Festivult Armor)
Winter Scarf (A cloak designed like the Death Walker's Sash meant to look like a scarf and colored to match the Winter Hood/Festivult Armor)

Example:

Cosmetic Pets:
Snowy Owl (Animated Model from Falconry)
Snowy Fox (Animated Model from Feydark Illusionist)
Mini-Snow Elemental (Miniature version of Snow Elemental from Snow Elemental Gem)

Of course I am not suggesting ALL of these be added at once simply listing all the suggestions that occur to me. Please feel free to add your own suggestions.

Elaborate please, in PM if you like. I did not like the Inquisitive Long Coat myself but I would like to know what potential you see in it.

HAHA! I suspect this hints at the major reason DDO clothing products are on the back burner. WIth so little agreement on what looks acceptable, there may not be enough interest in any particular clothing item to justify the cost of development.

In my opinion, the underlying shape (wire frame) of the Inquisitive's Longcoat is fine. The light gray, white, and equipment parts are also fine. I do not like the green layer of clothing beneath the coat, nor the turquoise accents. I would prefer black boots and gloves. If I were adjusting the colors, I would use a muted color palette from real 1930s and 1940s era clothing. The artist was definitely going for that look but then added the garish colors to make it look 'Eberron'.

The point may be moot. With the exception of Reaper Platemail, the artists do not recolor things. They make completely new overlays (skins).

Perhaps a better way to suggest ideas to the artists is with pictures of real outfits.

Its true your tastes and mine do not overlap much. In a fantasy situation where I can dress my characters however I wish and do not have the concerns of costume dressing in reality, I prefer fancy, glamorous, but also thematic styles such as Gothic Glamor, Steampunk, Solarpunk, Sword&Sorcery, Celestial, LotR Elven Elegance, Fancy Pirate. Your tastes seem to be less detailed, simpler, more streamlined, less is more. I will say its probably more the colors and less the style of the Inquisitive Longcoat that does not appeal to me; although the style with the colors used reminds me of a particularly stern, humorless teacher from Jr. High.

i leave gear and cosmetics suggestions to others....but i have a humble request for the devs.

please, use the nice festive music that plays during the climb for the slide too, it's so nice and fitting for both winter minigames, and, who knows, future ones. please! :)

Maybe we could bring back the Midwinter Snowball item? Idk... rename it Snowpeaks' Snowball? I miss using them in Taming the Flames.
