Snowpeaks Suggestions

The Snow Peaks event typically happens after Festivult and typically has been starting in January. We'll have more information about timing when we get closer to the date.

Because we will be coming up on Snowpeaks in the next? quarter I thought now might be a good time to make some suggestions for rewards.

Filigree:
Snow Peak's Gifts Wisdom (because why shouldn't my druid be able to use this too?)

Augments:
Sapphire of Freezing Ice Guard (Level 4)
Sapphire of Fireshield Cold (Level 8 as on Confiscated Heavy Mail)
Epic Ruby of Snowpeaks (Level 28 with Epic Freezing Ice as on Epic Leopard's Chill plus 4d8 cold damage)

Higher level augments should have a commensurately higher level cost in snowpeaks coins.

Items:
Frostgiant's Staff (Level 4 Quarterstaff Chilling and Minor Freezing Ice BTA) Use Ferrocrystal Quarterstaff as base item
Crossbow of Iceshards (Level 4 Greatcrossbow Chilling and Minor Freezing Ice BTA) Use Ferrocrystal Greatcrossbow as base item

Cosmetics:
Snow Fairy Wings
Snowflake Trail (Not footsteps but simply a trail of snowflakes that follow the character and disappear after a few seconds)
Winter Hood ( A hood using the White Hood of Schemes as base but colored to match the Festivult Armor)
Winter Scarf (A cloak designed like the Death Walker's Sash meant to look like a scarf and colored to match the Winter Hood/Festivult Armor)

Example:
75uhVmh.jpg

Cosmetic Pets:
Snowy Owl (Animated Model from Falconry)
Snowy Fox (Animated Model from Feydark Illusionist)
Mini-Snow Elemental (Miniature version of Snow Elemental from Snow Elemental Gem)

Of course I am not suggesting ALL of these be added at once simply listing all the suggestions that occur to me. Please feel free to add your own suggestions.

I'd love if they broke the map into different areas with doors as well. It's one gigantic pile of lag, especially the last bit.

Blank double slotted items all have the same bug that it shows a min lvl. Just ignore it.

Crafted lvl4 double slotted weapons give you W+2d6+2d6+2d6+2d6. That will work fine in anything until you get a ravenloft weapons or something with enhanced profile.
Dual slotted CC ML 10 weapons are better than Ravenloft items. +3d6 x 2 (enchantments), +3d6 x 2 (dual augments (ML 8)), and vampirism.

Actually I just thought of a real cool spell: Ice strike.

Animations should be similar to flame strike (obviously icicles instead of flames) and damage similar to meteor storm

True. It's less essential though because there are more alternatives. If you only have 1 doubleslotted blank weapon get the lvl4 first.
Double slotted blank weapons still go for some astral shards and aren't always available.

Fundamental problem with ice storm is you really need otto running to trap the monsters whilst they're being blessed with manna (well...ice) from heaven. if the monsters are immune to boogie nights then you're kindof outta options :ROFLMAO: 👍

If those wings were a Snowpeaks reward, I would strive to earn them on all my characters.

I do not play much anymore. The pet and steed offered during Mabar brought me back. Even though the dungeons were much harder than last year, especially Eternity, I played through the suck to earn them. I do not particularly like the pet or steed and will never use either one. I mention this because...

A new Snow Peaks pet and/or steed would probably cause me to play for a while. A white mare with blue tack might even get used. Snowflakes are fine. Not a fan of glowy.

A new, winter themed outfit could also entice me to play. Less is more. A white, otherwise unadorned cat suit would be fantastic. A white, unadorned robe would also be very good. Some blue is fine. Snowflakes are fine. Not a fan of glowy. The key is to NOT add ugly--backpacks, belts, shoulder pads, skulls, spikes. Less is more. I could not care less what it looks like on a guy or robot. It needs to look good on a human woman, which is to say, ME ME ME.

A spinning snowflake under my feet would be neat.

An animated snowflake monster that looks kinda like Starro from that super stupid Suicide Squad movie would be hilarious.

A snowflake shaped flying carpet mount would be awesome.

Maybe something that turns character name wings into snowflakes.

Of all those things, some plainish white clothes (maybe with some blue) offer the most hope.

Do not care about new equipment at all.

Two really good ideas. A snow-white mount with blue or black barding would fit well.

In my Smaller Support Pack Thread https://forums.ddo.com/index.php?threads/smaller-more-affordable-support-packs-please.1492/ I suggested a floating Tenser's Disk as a mount in the Xoriat Bundle, if they can do that with the character in their usual seated position then it should be very similar to make a floating Snowflake that works the same way.

Two thoughts occur for a white robe with blue accents. Either Order's Garb https://ddowiki.com/page/File:Legendary_Order's_Garb_Shown.jpg
with the red accents replaced with pale blue... or a common random gen robe like this one:

with the upper accessory layer (backpack/collar/belt) removed leaving just the pale blue edges.

Introduce global warming from all the Cannith plants, problem solved. Now you just have The Peaks, and no need to add anything. ;)

I enthusiastically support a white/blue/silver version of Order's Garb. The basic robe you linked would be okay (minus the shoulder pads and backpack, as you indicated).

If the people at Standing Stone Games want to add some new store items, I nominate the Dragon Knight Robe and Dragon Knight Heavy Armor for conversion to a white/blue/silver theme.

The long coat from the larger Sharn bundles could look very good in a white/blue/silver theme.

Some Santa themed outfits in red/white/black would also be really fun.

You probably wouldn't like this...

It was something I photoshopped a long, long time ago. It was a combination of Rakshasa Hide and the Wilderness Cosmetic in Red/Green/White. Today, if my old art program was working I would probably do a robe in Red/Green/White with the big fur collar which definitely looks appropriate for winter to me.

I also did a variation of Silver Dragon for the old Risia event

But they did their own version of Silver Dragon for that Extra Special VIP promotion they did years ago.

I am definitely not a fan of old style Eberron outfits. You are very good at dressing them up but for me, most are beyond salvation. The basic robe is okay. There are two decent suits of basic heavy armor.

On the other hand, if you applied your talents to various outfits from Menace of the Underdark and other expansions, some very good things could result. For example, the Inquisitive long coat from Sharn has a great deal of potential.

Elaborate please, in PM if you like. I did not like the Inquisitive Long Coat myself but I would like to know what potential you see in it. I should be getting a new art program for Christmas, I don't know how long it will take me to learn it but as soon as I do I will be up to my old shenanigans in photoshopping things. Or maybe new shenanigans, the new program seems to have quintuple the features.

I want the "Rudolph glowing nose reindeer" winter wolf as a mini-pet now.

I saw this ^ in another thread and thought it was a great suggestion for a new Snowpeaks Reward.

So if they can take this : https://ddowiki.com/page/Winter_Wolf_Pup
and ADD mini reindeer horns and a mini glowing red nose... we would AWOOO with joy.
