TEACHING RAID NIGHT : SIGN- UP NOW !

You talked about raids on Khyber being toxic recently. How's this teaching raid going? Or you doing this one on Orien where people signed up https://forums.ddo.com/index.php?threads/teaching-raid-night-sign-up-now.9819/page-4 ?

When this discussion started, I was genuinely curious and interested. After a the first few responses, I knew it would never happen.

Over the years, my personal experiences with raiding, in a half dozen games, were mediocre to terrible. The problem is almost never the game. A significant number of extremely obnoxious people can suck the fun out of every group activity they touch. They show up at family gatherings, game raids, softball practice, weddings, whatever. It takes me a while to build up the willpower to try certain group activities again. In this case, if the intent was to scare me away from another go at raiding, it worked.

That is fine. I am pursuing other interests.

I sincerely hope Elminster follows through on the other server and things work out. Group stuff with pleasant people can be a lot of fun.

I am just here to look for the coupon code and maybe roll daily dice. ;)

I play on several servers, but Khyber is my main server, and I raid a lot there, mostly train raids on LH or R1. Although I sometimes play in provate groups, I usually raid in pugs. And I have to say that I have never encountered raiding problems or toxicity on this server.

On the other hand, every time someone has said that they are new to a raid, the basic mechanics have been explained to them, or if it is complicated, at least guidelines so that they can carry out their function in the raid without problems. I myself have explained the mechanics of raids many times.

Whoever doesn't want to raid or wants to learn to raid is because they don't want to. It must also be said that once you have seen the raid once and have some idea of what it is like, reading the wiki to understand details is effortless and well worth the little time you are going to spend.

Sorry to hear! If you do ever want to raid, I would be willing to host some teaching raid nights.
