I went outside, cut down bushes, turned them into mulch, broke two chainsaws and a mulcher in the process. Once the mulcher broke I called it a day. I'll fix everything some other time (most likely next unscheduled downtime)
Now I remember why I hate the outdoors...
Fantastic. I almost asked him to stop calling you Shirley.I am serious ... and stop calling me Shirley.
Have you tried the good ol' technical tap?We have been working all day to resolve issues at the data center. We continue to investigate and resolve outstanding issues. At this time we do not have an ETA to announce.
It's unplanned for a reason. Servers died. **** happens. Deal with it.Over 3 hours of unplanned downtime? On a weekend? This is two weekends in a month that people have had major difficulty playing because of issues on your end. Maybe some compensation this time?
So... About that compensation? We have been working all day to resolve issues at the data center. We continue to investigate and resolve outstanding issues. At this time we do not have an ETA to announce.
Scroll up, about five minutes ago.Am I the only that thinks at least an update is warranted why it's been down over 8 hours?
Look 6 posts up from you.Am I the only that thinks at least an update is warranted why it's been down over 8 hours?
Eh, I took care of some backlogged work and did some cleaning around the house. The only reason I mentioned Compensation is simply because a caring dev team would maybe get away with a downtime like this once a month. Could you imagine if FFXIV or WoW had an entire weekend of borderline unplayability, and then 3 weeks later the game goes down during prime time hours for most US customers on a Saturday? No, you couldn't. And in the impossible event it would happen, at the bare minimum they'd add game time to players (VIP equivalent time here). Which FFXIV did do during the Endwalker server issues. It's unplanned for a reason. Servers died. **** happens. Deal with it.
Hopefully they can upgrade them to get kibbles and bytesHamsters are on strike for more kibbles and bits..
Thanks Cordo! We have been working all day to resolve issues at the data center. We continue to investigate and resolve outstanding issues. At this time we do not have an ETA to announce.
Cordo stated earlier that they will be using the forums and social media as ways to provide updates. I guess they could start a new thread but most of us watching are reading this one.Am I the only that thinks at least an update is warranted why it's been down over 8 hours?
Possibly, but that exploit requires servers that are using the latest versions of the affected library and that seems unlikely given the age and fragility of the SSG servers. In this case, being on older systems is a good thing.probably nothing to do with this, but we do live in interesting interweb times https://arstechnica.com/security/20...nux-utility-breaks-encrypted-ssh-connections/
thanks for the updateWe have been working all day to resolve issues at the data center. We continue to investigate and resolve outstanding issues. At this time we do not have an ETA to announce.
Their have their own servers. I assume they share the same physical location with other companies' servers (but I could be wrong about that).Does SSG maintain their own Data Centre or is it out-sourced?
